Meredith Thompson was born and raised
in beautiful Huntsville, Ontario. She studied ballet,
jazz and tap for nearly fifteen years before she came
to know and love modern dance as a student at York University.
Since graduating from York in 2000 with a B.F.A. and
B.Ed., Meredith has had an ongoing relationship with
the Danny Grossman Dance Company. Currently she is enjoying
her fourth season working as a dancer with the Company,
and over the years she has also played an integral role
in the development and delivery of the Company's educational
programs. As an independent dancer, Meredith has had
the pleasure of working with Dancetheatre David Earle on
a number of occasions and most recently, has appeared
in works by Neesa Kenemy and Seika Boye.
Fond of young people, Meredith also works as a teaching
artist with the Drama/Dance Department of the Toronto
District School Board. When not dancing or teaching,
Meredith tends to gardens both in and out of the city,
designs button jewelry, and travels home to Huntsville
to take in the quieter setting and enjoy the outdoors. |
