Pamela Grundy began
dancing during the 1950s in her hometown of Windsor , Ontario
. Whether dancing, playing basketball, cheerleading or competing
in track and field, she loved to run and jump. At the University
of Waterloo , Pamela was introduced to modern dance by the legendary
choreographer, performer, and teacher, Judy Jarvis. After graduating
in 1974 with a BSC in kinesiology/dance, Pamela made her professional
debut with the Judy Jarvis Dance and Theatre Company, where she
stayed for three years. After teaching both modern dance and
track and field as a faculty member at the University of Calgary
, Pamela found a dance home in the form of the Danny Grossman
Dance Company, of which she has been a member for the past twenty-five
years. A featured performer in innumerable international and
national tours and countless home seasons, Pamela was named Associate
Artistic Director in 1990 and Co-Artistic Director in 2003. She
co-authored the Canadian Dancers' Survival Manual and served
on the board of directors of the Dance In Canada Association
and the Dance Committee of the Toronto Arts Council. Pamela is
currently on the board of Dance Collection Danse, is chair of
the Judy Jarvis Dance Foundation, and along with her partner,
Randy Glynn, is co-director of the Granville Ferry Summer Dance
Program in Nova Scotia.
